Prince Lekan Adewoye will formally submit his letter of intent to contest the Kwara South Senatorial seat under the All Progressives Congress (APC) tomorrow, Wednesday, April 22, 2026.
His team disclosed that the submission will take place at the party’s State Secretariat on Commissioner’s Lodge Way, GRA, Ilorin, at 11:00 a.m., marking the first official step in his bid to represent Kwara South in the National Assembly.
Meanwhile, preparations have reached an advanced stage for his official declaration ceremony scheduled for Saturday, April 25, in Ajase-Ipo. The event is expected to attract party stakeholders, community leaders, and supporters from across the district, and will hold at Ajase-Ipo Comprehensive High School at 10:00 a.m.
Organisers said the declaration will formally present Adewoye’s vision, which they describe as a renewed approach to leadership and representation in Kwara South. They added that the event will also outline his priorities, including development, inclusive growth, and stronger engagement with constituents.
The twin events, the submission of intent and the public declaration, mark a significant milestone in what appears to be an early and structured entry into the senatorial race. They also signal an effort to engage stakeholders at both the party and grassroots levels.
Observers believe the declaration will offer residents an opportunity to engage directly with the aspirant and better understand his plans for the district.
Residents and party faithful have been invited to attend the events, particularly the declaration ceremony in Ajase-Ipo, where organisers say the aspirant will clearly outline his priorities and direction.
The gathering is expected to serve as a rallying point for those tracking the district’s evolving political landscape, as supporters see the back-to-back events as the start of a renewed push for purposeful leadership and stronger representation for Kwara South at the federal level.
