A prominent Kwara-based broadcaster and Head of Station at Tiwa n Tiwa TNT 102.5 FM, Ijagbo, in Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State, Yemi Zubair, has been laid to rest following his death on Saturday.
Zubair died at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Ilorin, after a brief illness.
His Janazah (Islamic funeral prayer) was held on Sunday morning at the Ansaru-ud-deen Society Central Mosque, Taiwo Road, Ilorin, in the presence of family members, friends, colleagues, and well-wishers who gathered to pay their final respects to the late ace broadcaster.
Following the prayer, his remains were transported to his hometown, Oyan, in Odo Otin Local Government Area of Osun State, where he was buried according to Islamic rites.
In a statement earlier released by the management and staff of Tiwa n Tiwa 102.5 FM, the deceased was described as a dedicated professional whose leadership and unwavering commitment greatly contributed to the growth of the station.
The statement noted that he was “not just a leader, but a mentor, guide, and pillar whose impact will never be forgotten.”
The management also prayed that Almighty Allah forgives his shortcomings, grants him Aljanah Firdaus, and gives his family, friends, and the entire broadcasting community the strength to bear the loss.
Factual Naija News reports that Zubair was also a retired Director of Programmes at Radio Kwara, Ilorin. He was the Pioneer FM Coordinator for Radio Kwara's Midland FM 99.1 (then with the frequency modulation 99.0 MHZ).
