The All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial Candidate for Kwara South, Prince Olalekan Adewoye, has described the establishment of a Nigerian Army Battalion in Omu-Aran as a historic milestone that will redefine the security architecture of Kwara South and further consolidate Kwara State's reputation as one of the safest states in Nigeria.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by his media office, Prince Adewoye expressed profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for approving the military formation, describing the President as a visionary leader whose unwavering commitment to national security continues to inspire confidence among Nigerians.
He equally commended the Executive Governor of Kwara State and Leader of the APC in the state, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, for his strategic leadership, tireless advocacy, and sustained collaboration with the Federal Government, which culminated in the successful siting of the Army Battalion in Omu-Aran.
According to Prince Adewoye, the establishment of the battalion is far more than a military installation; it is a strategic investment in the peace, stability, and economic prosperity of Kwara South and the entire state.
He noted that the presence of the Nigerian Army in Omu-Aran will significantly enhance intelligence gathering, improve rapid response to security threats, strengthen the fight against criminality, and provide greater protection for farmers, commuters, businesses, and rural communities.
"This landmark achievement is a clear demonstration that the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is yielding tangible dividends for our people. It also reflects Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq's unwavering determination to ensure that every part of Kwara State enjoys lasting peace and accelerated development.
"The establishment of this Army Battalion will undoubtedly boost investors' confidence, stimulate economic activities, safeguard agricultural production, and reinforce the confidence of our people in the ability of government to protect lives and property," he stated.
Prince Adewoye further urged residents of Kwara South to support the Nigerian Army and other security agencies by remaining vigilant, cooperating with law enforcement, and providing timely and credible information that will aid intelligence-driven operations.
He reaffirmed that security remains the bedrock of sustainable development, adding that the people of Kwara South are deeply grateful to President Tinubu for this remarkable intervention and to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his steadfast commitment to attracting transformative projects that directly improve the lives of Kwarans.
"History will remember this decision as one that strengthened the security foundation of Kwara South, protected our communities, and opened new opportunities for growth and development. On behalf of the good people of Kwara South, I extend our heartfelt gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for this enduring legacy of service and visionary leadership," Prince Adewoye concluded.
