... Urges Discipline Among Students
The Kwara State Government has announced that all public and private schools across the state will resume academic activities on Monday, April 20, 2026, marking the commencement of the third term for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Lawal Olohungbebe, urged students to return to school with renewed commitment to their studies, emphasizing the importance of discipline and good conduct.
According to a statement issued in Ilorin by the Press Secretary of the Ministry, Peter Amogbonjaye, the commissioner encouraged students to remain focused and dedicated.
He said that hard work and exemplary behavior would enable them to become worthy ambassadors of their families, schools, and the state.
The government noted that the resumption date followed extensive consultations with key stakeholders in the education sector and aligns with the approved academic calendar for the third term.
Olohungbebe also commended teachers and non-teaching staff for their dedication, noting that their efforts have contributed to improved learning outcomes in public schools across the state.
He attributed ongoing progress in the education sector to the policies and investments of the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, as well as the collective commitment of stakeholders.
“The gains recorded in the education sector are a result of sustained investments, policy consistency, and the collaboration of all stakeholders,” he said.
The commissioner stressed the need for continued cooperation within the sector to consolidate achievements and further enhance the quality of education delivery in the state.
He also called for sustained support for government policies and programmes aimed at improving the education system.
The resumption follows a three-week holiday observed by schools across the state.
