The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Kwara State has approved the deployment of 2,350 operatives to ensure a safe and peaceful Eid-el-Fitr celebration across the state.
The disclosure was made today by the Command’s spokesperson, ASC I Ayoola Michael Shola, on behalf of the State Commandant, Bala Bawa Bodinga.
According to the Command, the operatives have been strategically deployed across all 16 local government areas, with personnel drawn from specialized units such as the Armed Squad, Operational Harmony, Counter-Terrorism Unit, Anti-Vandal Unit, and the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNE) Unit.
The deployment is based on intelligence gathering and threat assessments, with focus on identified flashpoints, high-risk corridors, and other sensitive locations.
Area Commanders and Divisional Officers have also been directed to intensify patrols, enhance surveillance, and maintain proactive response strategies within their jurisdictions.
The Commandant noted that the NSCDC will collaborate with other security agencies, local vigilantes, and community stakeholders to ensure effective coverage and swift response throughout the festive period.
While congratulating Muslim faithful on the successful completion of Ramadan, the Command urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities promptly. It also warned that anyone attempting to disrupt public peace during the celebrations would face decisive action.
