The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has carried out multiple air operations targeting hostile groups across several communities in Kwara State, the force announced on Monday.
The missions, conducted on September 28 under Operation Fansan Yamma (OPFY) Sector 3, focused on Kakihun, Oke-Ode, Babanla and nearby areas. According to NAF, the operations combined reconnaissance flights with close air support to deter emerging threats.
Hostile elements were reportedly sighted east of Babanla and were “decisively engaged” by air assets. Surveillance aircraft also patrolled key settlements and military positions, gathering intelligence to assist ground forces in the area.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, said the missions demonstrate the Air Force’s commitment to protecting both troops and civilians while sustaining pressure on armed groups.
“All operations were successfully completed,” Ejodame stated. “The NAF assures Nigerians of its unwavering resolve to defend the nation’s territorial integrity and safeguard communities against threats.”
He further urged citizens to remain confident, vigilant, and supportive of the armed forces as efforts continue to restore peace and security across the country.
