The Kwara State Football Association (Kwara FA) has secured a major sponsorship deal worth ₦50 million over three years for the state’s Federation Cup, in partnership with Stefolga and FlowFM.
The agreement is aimed at strengthening grassroots football development and revitalizing one of Kwara State’s oldest football competitions.
The deal was formally signed in Ilorin today at the premises of FlowFM, drawing key stakeholders from across the state’s football community.
Speaking at the ceremony, Engr. Femi Sanni praised the support of AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, alongside the leadership of the football association and participating clubs.
He described the sponsorship as a starting point for broader investment in the sport, assuring continued backing for football development initiatives in the state.
Chairman of the Kwara FA, Hon. Idris Abdullahi Musa Thuraya, commended Sanni’s contributions to football growth in the region. He highlighted his role in the success of Kwara United FC, particularly their victory in the 2025 President Federation Cup, as well as his involvement in the ongoing renovation of the state stadium’s main bowl.
Thuraya noted that the sponsorship would significantly improve the organization, competitiveness, and overall quality of the Federation Cup.
He encouraged clubs across the state to participate actively, emphasizing the competition’s importance as a platform for discovering and showcasing emerging talent.
He also challenged Kwara United FC to defend their title, underscoring the state’s rising profile in Nigerian football.
The agreement is expected to enhance incentives, increase visibility, and inject renewed energy into the tournament.
As part of the event, kits and jerseys were presented to participating teams, including ABS FC and Gaa Akanbi FC, among others.
