A new Executive Council has emerged to steer the affairs of the Kwara State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) following the successful conduct of its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Summit held on Friday, June 26, 2026, at the Kwara State Banquet Hall, Ilorin.
The election, which was conducted in a peaceful and transparent atmosphere by members of the state electoral committee, namely: P.C Olufadi Ayuba Balarabe, Chairman; P.C Akintunde Diya, Secretary; and P.C. Jamiu Alapo, member; was supervised by a Member of the Governing Council of the NIPR, Professor Saudat Sallah Abdulbaqi, fnipr. At the conclusion of the electoral process, she administered the oath of office to the newly elected executive members.
Speaking after the inauguration, Prof. Abdulbaqi expressed delight at the successful conduct of the election and commended members for their commitment to the institute.
"It gives me great joy and pride to witness this day. I commend the dedication and maturity that went into the entire process. Congratulations to our amazing Chapter leaders. I wish you remarkable success in office. I equally implore you to make Kwara the chapter to beat," she said.
The newly inaugurated Executive Council comprises:
- Chairman: PC Ogunade Gabriel Oluwaloseyi
- Vice Chairman: PC Opaleke Enoch Abimbola
- Secretary: PC Olarewaju Basheer Lukman
- Assistant Secretary: PC Sule Sanni Mohammed
- Internal Auditor: PC Omole Damilola M.
- Treasurer: PC Falilat Adebayo Lawal
- Financial Secretary: PC Dr. Abubakar Sadiq Suleman
- Welfare Officer: PC Mrs. Bukola Mohammed
- Public Relations Officer (PRO): PC Ayobami Dorcas Ashaolu
The newly elected executives are expected to provide leadership for the institute in Kwara State, promote professional excellence in public relations practice, and advance the objectives of the NIPR within the state.
The AGM and Summit brought together public relations professionals and stakeholders to review the activities of the institute and chart a course for the future of the profession in Kwara State.
