The management of Kwara State College of Nursing Sciences, Oke-Ode (KWCONOO), has distributed food relief materials to students affected by Wednesday’s rainstorm, which caused significant damage to properties in some hostels at the College’s temporary site in Ilorin.
The Chief Press Secretary of the College, AbdulHafeez Oyewole, in a statement issued on Friday, said the intervention was aimed at cushioning the impact of the incident on affected students.
He quoted the Provost, Alhaji Olanrewaju AbdulQuadri, as expressing deep sympathy for the victims, noting that the incident was not due to negligence by the College management or hostel providers.
According to him, repairs on leaking roofing sheets had already commenced ahead of the rainy season but were disrupted by the unexpected downpour, adding that the repair work has now been completed.
Students who benefited from the relief materials commended the management for the timely intervention and thoughtful gesture, offering prayers for the continued success and progress of the College leadership.
