The Executive Chairman of Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State, Hon. Abdullahi Bello, has announced a 24-hour curfew on Gbugbu community, including its popular market.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Edu LGA Council Media Team and Communications Strategic Unit.
According to the statement, the curfew takes effect from 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
“The curfew is part of measures put in place to protect lives and property as security agencies continue operations in identified areas of interest,” the statement read.
It added that all human and vehicular movements are prohibited within the affected area for the duration of the curfew, describing the decision as a security measure. The council noted that further updates would be communicated as necessary.
