The Ifelodun Local Government Area has imposed a 24-hour curfew across the entire Oro-Ago District as part of measures to restore security and protect lives and property.
The Chairman of the Local Government, Hajji Abdulrasheed Femi Yusuf, announced the decision in a statement issued through his Chief Press Secretary, Abdulquadri Jimba, in the early hours of Wednesday.
According to the statement, the curfew takes effect from 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, and will remain in force until further notice.
The Chairman explained that the restriction on movement is to support an ongoing security clearance operation aimed at dislodging terrorists and restoring peace in the district.
“Within this period, there will be no human or vehicular movement throughout the entire Oro-Ago District. This measure is in support of the ongoing security clearance operation in the area. Further reviews of this decision will be communicated accordingly,” the statement read.
Residents have been urged to comply fully with the directive to enable security agencies carry out their operations effectively.
The Local Government assured the public that updates will be provided as the situation develops.
