President Bola Tinubu has reshuffled his cabinet after months of growing calls from Nigerians.
This cabinet reshuffling has affected 15 Ministers.
President Tinubu on Wednesday implemented eight actions which include sacking five ministers, reassigning ten others to new ministerial portfolios, appointing seven new ministers for Senate confirmation, renaming of the Ministry of Niger Delta Development to the Ministry of Regional Development to oversee the Regional Development Commissions, scrapping to the Ministry of Sports Development and transferring its functions to the National Sports Commission, among others.
The sacked ministers include: Uju-Ken Ohanenye, the minister of Women Affairs;
Lola Ade-John, the minister of Tourism; Tahir Mamman, minister of Education; Abdullahi Gwarzo, the minister of State, Housing and Urban Development: and
Jamila Ibrahim, the minister of Youth Development.
The President also nominated Bianca Odumegu-Ojukwu as the Minister of State Foreign Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi as the Minister of Labour and Employment, Jumoke Oduwole as the Minister of Industry, Idi Maiha as Minister for the newly created Livestock Development Ministry, Yusuf Ata as the Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development, and Suwaiba Ahmad as the Minister of State Education.
President Tinubu's nomination of Nentawe Yilwatda as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction officially ended the tenure of Betta Edu who was suspended in January over alleged financial scandal in her ministry.
The former Lagos Governor turned Nigerian President further dissolved sports ministry, and named Shehu Dikko as National Sports Commission Chairman.
He also appointed for Sport Minister under Buhari's administration as Special Adviser to the President on Public Communication And Orientation.
