Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has been commended for his commendable leadership qualities which made it possible for the Nigerian Army to succeed in securing the release of 137 out of 287 kidnapped students of Kuriga Government Secondary School in Chikum Local Government of the State.
In a Press Statement jointly signed the National Coordinator of the Muslim Media Watch Group (MMWG) of Nigeria, Alh. Ibrahim Abdullahi, and the National Secretary of the Group, Dr. Nasir Balogun, the Group stated that efforts need be intensified to rescue the balance of 150 students without further delay.
The Group also specifically commended the National Security Adviser to Mr. President, Mal. Nuhu Ribadu, for his wonderful roles on this matter as well as the Nigerian Army for their efforts so far.
The Group warned on the dangers inherent in the delay of recruitment and training of more policemen as well as more personnel for other Security Agencies in Nigeria; pointing out that the Nation is bigger than the current low figure of security personnel serving it.
The Media Group also blamed the Nation's security challenges on improper postings citing deployment of large number of security personnel to political office-holders which obviously deny some essential services of necessary security watch.
MMWG maintained that with the renewed waves of abduction and kidnapping in Nigeria, it is difficult to maintain such wrong postings without backlash, advocating for posting of police and NSCDC personnel to all Schools in the Country whether the schools run boarding or not; adding that both the Nigeria Police and NSCDC leadership must now take responsibility for any security breach in this Country; as it is their duty to protect citizens of this Country and their property.
