The Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Mallam Saliu Mustapha is deeply saddened by the death of Mr. Timothy Nathaniel Usman, the Deputy Director of Protocol in the Kwara State Government House.
Senator Mustapha describes Mr. Usman as an exemplary broadcast journalist and a dedicated public servant whose passing on Thursday evening has been described as untimely and devastating.
In a heartfelt message from his media office, Senator Mustapha extends his deepest condolences to the Kwara State Government, the Kwara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, where Mr. Nathaniel notably served as Secretary; and to his bereaved family.
Senator Mustapha's thoughts are with Mr. Nathaniel’s immediate family, his colleagues at the Kwara State Television, the office of the Head of Service, and the broader media community in Kwara during this difficult time. He earnestly prays for the eternal rest of Mr. Nathaniel’s soul and for God to provide comfort and strength to his widow, children, family members, the NUJ in Kwara state.
Mr. Timothy Nathaniel Usman served with distinction in various capacities, including as the Chief Press Secretary to the former Deputy Governor of Kwara State, Mr. Peter Kisira, and as a member of the Kwara State branch of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN).
