The newly elected National President of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Dr. Usman Oladipo Akanbi on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the esteemed Royal father, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari (CFR), seeking blessings for his ANA-led administration.
Accompanied by members of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) in Kwara state, Dr. Akanbi was equally honored by the presence of Justice Idris Abdullahi Haroon (OFR), the former Grand Khadi of Kwara state, who offered heartfelt prayers during the visit.
In his address, the Emir praised Dr. Akanbi’s dedication to literature and
highlighted the values exemplified by his late father, Justice Mustapha Akanbi, the former Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC).
The Royal father, fondly referred to the late sage as his boss and elder brother, underscoring the deep connection between their families.
The visit was a symbol of unity and respect, showcasing the convergence of literary and traditional values.
Also speaking, Dr. Akanbi expressed gratitude for the Emir’s blessings and vowed to uphold the rich literary traditions championed by ANA.
