Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, on Tuesday, announced the suspension of political activities in honour of Ifeanyi, son of the hip hop singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, whose death had occurred on Monday.
Osun PDP in a condolence message signed by
the Caretaker Chairman of the party, Dr Akindele Adekunle, obtained in Osogbo,
commiserated with the family of the deceased.
It also condoled with Dr Deji Adeleke, the
grandfather of the deceased, and the entire Adeleke family, and prayed God to
grant the family the strength to bear the loss.
The party also directed all party organs
and committees to suspend activities in commiseration with the family,
describing the incident as “a very sad occurrence.”
The statement further read in part, “We
mourn the sorrowful exit of our son, Ifeanyi. We pray for the repose of his
soul. It is a sad day but we remain steadfast in our faith in the Lord of the
Universe.
“It (the PDP) directed all party organs and
committees to suspend activities in commiseration with the family.
“Our condolence goes to Davido, our youth
ambassador. We commiserate with our father figure, Dr Deji Adeleke, and the
entire Adeleke family. We pray the good Lord grant the family the strength to
bear this irreparable loss.”
