Kwara South Senatorial Aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Lekan Adewoye, has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of health workers from Ekiti Local Government Area who lost their lives in a road accident while returning from the 2026 Workers’ Day celebration in Ilorin.
In a statement , Prince Adewoye described the incident as a heartbreaking tragedy, noting that the victims; members of the Medical and Health Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MHWUN) were committed caregivers who served their communities with dedication and compassion.
He extended heartfelt condolences to the Executive Chairman of Ekiti Local Government, Hon. Awelewa Olawale Gabriel, the leadership of MHWUN, and the entire Ekiti community, stating that the loss is both personal and collective to the people of Kwara South.
Prince Adewoye acknowledged the depth of their pain and prayed for strength and comfort, emphasising that the deceased died in active service to humanity and would be remembered for their sacrifices.
He also prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the crash and called for collective support for victims and their families during this difficult period.
