The All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Ekiti/Isin/Irepodun/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency has taken an interesting turn as Honourable Abolarin Ganiyu Gabriel emerged in a strong early lead from results collated across several wards in the constituency.
According to information gathered from party sources and ward collation centres, Hon. Abolarin has continued to record impressive victories in multiple wards, establishing early dominance in the keenly contested primary.
In a surprising development, the incumbent member representing the constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Raheem Ajulopin, is reportedly struggling to secure victories, with early indications showing difficulty in winning even a single ward out of the 42 wards spread across the federal constituency.
Party faithful and observers monitoring the exercise described the unfolding outcome as a reflection of the growing political momentum and grassroots support enjoyed by Hon. Ganiyu Gabriel across Ekiti, Isin, Irepodun and Oke-Ero local government areas.
The primary election, which has attracted widespread attention within the APC fold in Kwara State, is expected to shape the political direction of the constituency ahead of the next general election.
As collation continues, supporters of both camps remain at various centres awaiting the final official declaration by party electoral officials.
