The Commissioner of Police in Kwara State, CP Adekimi Ojo, has congratulated women police officers serving in the command as well as women and girls across the state and the world on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2026.
In a press statement issued on Sunday by the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the police boss commended the dedication, courage and professionalism of female officers in the Nigeria Police Force, noting that their contributions continue to strengthen policing and community safety.
The Commissioner highlighted that the theme for this year’s celebration, “Rights, Justice, Action; For All Women and Girls,” emphasizes the importance of protecting the rights, dignity and opportunities of every woman and girl in society.
According to him, women officers have continued to play significant roles in maintaining peace, promoting professionalism and supporting effective policing across the state.
CP Ojo also praised the resilience and achievements of women and girls whose impact continues to shape families, communities and the nation at large.
He further reaffirmed the commitment of the Kwara State Police Command to safeguarding the rights of women and girls, assuring that justice will always prevail in cases involving gender-based violence and abuse.
The police commissioner therefore urged continued support for initiatives that promote equality, justice and empowerment for women and girls.
