The people of Isalemole community of Oro kingdom have reiterated their unwavering commitment to sustaining peace, unity, and progress in Oro Kingdom, calling on the public to disregard any divisive publications seeking to create tension within the ancient town.
In a statement signed by the spokesman of the community, Mr. Buhari Agboola Ridwan, Isalemole reaffirmed its loyalty to the leadership of the Oloro of Oro, Oba Joel Oyatotoye Titiloye Olufayo II, describing him as the legitimate and recognized traditional ruler of the entire Oro Kingdom.
According to the people of Isalemole, recent publications by an association within the community were aimed at causing misunderstanding among residents, but the people of Isalemole remain united and committed to the ideals of peaceful coexistence under the Oloro’s leadership.
“ Our aims and objectives remain to promote peace, unity, and progress across all communities in Oro Kingdom under the leadership of Oba Oloro. We therefore urge the general public to disregard any publication capable of disturbing the peace of the kingdom”, the statement said.
He further clarified that Isalemole and Oke Ode are integral parts of the Oro Kingdom and that all compounds in the area recognize and submit to the authority of the Oloro of Oro, as affirmed in the Kwara State Gazette of December 1, 1977, which states that the Oloro retains jurisdiction over all nine villages in the kingdom.
The statement also noted that the various compounds in Oro trace their origins to different parts of Yorubaland, including Oyo, Ikotun, Isan-Ekiti, Oba, Offa, and Ilorin, emphasizing that these diverse roots have long coexisted peacefully under the Oloro’s reign.
He therefore urged all residents to remain law-abiding and to continue supporting the traditional leadership for the overall growth and development of Oro Kingdom.
