The Chairman of the Kwara State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Mr. Ayodeji Ismail, has charged members to put into practice the knowledge gained during the Digital Media Refresher Training facilitated by the Chief Executive Officer of 132 Media, Mr. Tijani Ajara.
The training, held today at the Taiwo Awoniyi Media Centre, George Innih Agbazika Stadium Complex, Ilorin, drew participants from various SWAN chapels across the state.
In his remarks, Mr. Ismail emphasized the importance of continuous learning in the ever-evolving digital media space, noting that sports journalists must constantly upgrade their skills to remain relevant and effective in today’s fast-paced media environment.
He commended the resource person, Mr. Ajara, for sharing practical insights on digital content creation, online audience engagement, and new media tools that can enhance the quality of sports reportage.
According to him, “The world of journalism is changing rapidly, and sports reporting is not an exception. Our members must embrace digital innovations that can improve the quality and reach of their work. This training is one of the many steps we are taking to strengthen capacity within SWAN Kwara.”
The highlight of the event was the presentation of certificates of participation by the Chairman to members who successfully completed the training.
The digital media refresher course is part of SWAN Kwara’s continuous capacity-building initiatives aimed at equipping members with modern media techniques for effective and professional sports reporting.
