Hundreds of Muslims gathered in Ilorin, Kwara State, as Al-Harakatul Islamiyyah, a prominent Islamic movement, staged a solidarity rally on Friday to show support for Muslim communities facing conflict in the Middle East, particularly in Gaza, Palestine, Yemen, and Lebanon.
The rally began at the Ilorin Juma’at Central Mosque, with participants marching through major streets in the Gambari area before returning to the mosque.
Demonstrators condemned the ongoing humanitarian crises and civilian casualties in various Islamic nations, attributing the situation to Israel, the United States, and their allies.
Holding placards and chanting solidarity slogans, they urged the global Muslim Ummah to unite in defense of oppressed Muslim communities.
As part of the protest marking Quds day observant, participants burned the flags of Israel and the United States while waving those of Palestine and Islam, emphasizing their support for resistance movements in affected regions.
Organizers stated that the rally aimed not only to denounce the ongoing atrocities but also to raise global awareness about the suffering of innocent victims, particularly women and children, who they described as bearing the brunt of imperial aggression.
