The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bashir Ajibola, has declared that there is "no vacancy in Aso Rock in 2027," urging Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu’s administration and re-elect the party in the next general elections.
Ajibola made the statement in Ilorin during an agriculture and human capital development empowerment programme organised by Senator Saliu Mustapha, who represents Kwara Central in the Senate.
Addressing beneficiaries and party supporters, the APC national secretary emphasized the need for continued support for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, stressing that the administration’s food security reforms were yielding results.
“I enjoin you all to support President Tinubu and Sen. Mustapha in the elections with your votes. I repeat, there is no vacancy in Aso Rock in 2027,” Ajibola stated.
The programme, which took place on Friday, was attended by top government officials, including the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari, and Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau.
Kyari hailed President Tinubu’s agricultural reforms, noting that they were making food more available and affordable. “The reform President Tinubu initiated in terms of food security is working; we have seen and are feeling that food is not only available, but prices are gradually becoming affordable,” the minister said.
Barau also praised Senator Mustapha for his role as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development, describing him as a key figure in advancing the president’s agenda.
The empowerment programme benefited thousands of people, with distributions including 10,000 fertilisers for farmers, 20 tractors, 30 Siena vehicles, 52 tricycles,250 deep freezers, over 400 irrigation machines, 450 grinding machines, eight tractors, convertible tricycles, and cows.
Additionally, each of the four local government areas in Kwara Central received vehicles to enhance economic activities.
In support of the initiative, 200 sewing machines were also donated to beneficiaries, reinforcing the APC-led administration’s commitment to human capital development and economic empowerment.
With growing political activities ahead of 2027, Ajibola’s remark signals the ruling party’s readiness to consolidate its hold on power, as party leaders rally support for Tinubu’s re-election bid.
