The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Zulu-Gambari, has declared Sunday, March 30, 2025, as the official day for Eid-el-Fitr celebration in Kwara State.
This was confirmed in a statement issued in Ilorin by his spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, Dailysource reports.
According to the Emir, the declaration follows consultations with the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Alhaji Muhammadu Saad Abubakar CFR, the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Umar Ibn Garbai Ibn El-Kanemi, and other prominent traditional rulers across Nigeria regarding the sighting of the new Shawwal 1446 crescent, marking the end of Ramadan.
He further stated that the Sultan of Sokoto had given official directive to confirm March 30, 2025, as the Eid-el-Fitr celebration date.
Alhaji Zulu-Gambari prayed for Allah’s blessings upon all Muslims, urging them to embrace the spirit of unity, peace, and generosity during the festivities. He also called on the Muslim Ummah to celebrate with caution and extend acts of charity to the less privileged in society.
