Two of the pilgrims from Kwara state have passed away in Saudi Arabia.
According to a report released by the Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Board, the victims are Saliu Muhammad of batches 3 and Hawawu Mohammed of batches 9 of the airlift respectively.
It was gathered that Saliu (batch 3) died in an intensive care unit of a public hospital in Madina after brief illness, while Hawawu (Batch 9) died following what Saudi authorities described to be an unfortunate suicidal episode from the rooftop of her apartment in Madina.
The statement said, "We would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the deceased, Kwara pilgrims and the entire people of the state.
“We pray to the Almighty Allah to forgive their shortcomings and grant his soul as well as the souls of departed Muslims, Jannatul Firdaus.”
It therefore urged the family of the deceased to take heart and accept the will of God Almighty in good faith, observing that no soul would live beyond its designated time.
