The people of Owa-Kajola in Ifelodun LGA of Kwara state, through His Royal Highness, the Onire of Owa - Kajola, Oba Adebisi Adeniyi have commended Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for his quest in making life more meaningful for prople in the rural areas and transforming Kwara State to a tourists State.
The Royal father gave the commendation in a statement made available to FACTUAL NAIJA NEWS signed by the Secretary of the Community Development Association, Omo-oba Olumide Ogunbiyi.
He noted that the Royal father excitedly received the news of Kwara government's approval for the construction of eleven (11) Kilometers Phase 1 to Owu-Fall.
Oba Adeniyi who disclosed that Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has taken a giant stride in making Kwara state a haven of tourists center by making Owu Waterfalls accessible for all and sundry, said that the construction of the road will not only bring Kwara state into the limelight in the field of tourism, it will also improve economic activities and create employment in the area.
While thanking the Governor for bringing the dream of Owa-Kajola into reality, Oba Adeniyi, on behalf of the community, promised his unalloyed support and cooperation with the Government and the would-be contractor by creating an enabling environment with a view to achieving the desired results.
FACTUAL NAIJA NEWS recalls that the Kwara State Executive Council last Wednesday approved a contract for the construction of the Phase I of the road to the Owu Fall, the highest waterfall in West Africa measuring 120m above water level and cascading 330 feet down an escarpment, a major boost for tourism in not just the state but in Nigeria and West Africa subregion.
The contract, covering 11 kilometres in this phase, was awarded to Messrs FIK Contracting and Engineering Ltd at N3,998,838,427.50 for a completion period of 18 months.
