Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa had earlier sent the names of the nominees to the Assembly, including eight cabinet members who were part of the late former Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s administration.
According to the Chairman of the House Committee on Selection, who is also the Deputy Speaker, Abayomi Akinruntan, after the screening, the nominees were found to be capable and mentally fit to perform the task ahead.
The nominees include Dr. Banji Ajaka, Pastor Segun Ayerin, Olaolu Akindolire, Boye Ologbese, Hamidu Takuro, Sunday Akinwalere, Lola Fagbemi, Saka Ogunleye, Rasheed Badmus, Olayato Aribo, Adewale Akinlosotu, and Mr. Gbenga Olaniyi.
The Speaker of the Assembly, Olamide Oladiji, who told the commissioner designates to put in their best in their new role, emphasised that the task of building the state was enormous.
Responding on behalf of the nominees, Fagbemi lauded Aiyedatiwa for the trust reposed in them and promised to give their best.
