The Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, Mallam Saliu Mustapha, has expressed shock and grief at the passage of the Oloro of Oro Kingdom, Oba Abdulrafiu Ajiboye Oyelaran the first in the early hours of Saturday.
In a statement issued to journalists in Ilorin, Senator Mustapha described the late monarch as an epitome of peace.
The Turaki of Ilorin also condoled with the Kwara state government, the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Alh Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, the entire people of Oro Kingdom, the Oloro-in-Council, the Immediate family and subjects of late Oba Oyelaran on the demise of the second classtraditional ruler.
Senator Mustapha noted that the death of the late Oloro of Oro Kingdom was a tremendous loss to him personally, adding that he would be sorely missed especially at a critical period that traditional rulers were expected to play pivotal roles to find solution to the challenges confronting the nation.
He said: "The late monarch lived a life worthy of emulation as a man of the people who contributed immensely to the growth and development of Oro Kingdom during his lifetime.
“In all the years I knew him, his moral and physical strength were inspirations to me. He lived a life worthy of emulation. The late monarch played pivotal roles to the growth and development of his community and I pray to Almighty Allah to grant him Aljanat fridaus."
While praying for the repose of the deceased, the Turaki of Ilorin urged the community to accept the death of the late monarch as the will of Almighty Allah, especially during this sacred month of Ramadan.
