Unknown gunmen have reportedly killed a medical practitioner, Dr David Adefikayo, the medical director of Dafikayo Clinic in Kanbi, Moro local government area of Kwara State.
FACTUAL NAIJA NEWS gathered that Adefikayo was killed by his assailants in his residence in Kanbi community on Thursday.
According to sources, the gunmen broke into the deceased’s residence around 8:30pm on Thursday and opened fire on him in the presence of his wife and children.
It was gathered that despite the medical doctor’s plea and offer of money, the gunmen, suspected to be hired assassins, went ahead to kill him.
It was also gathered that the hoodlums abducted one of the late doctor's daughters named Christiana.
Christiana has, however, been freed by her captors on Friday, according to sources in the community.
The spokesperson of the Kwara State Police Command, Ejire Adeyemi-Adetoun, who confirmed the incident on Friday, added that, “the DPO and other officers have stormed the bush in search of the criminals. I will give more details later.”
Also, Adetoun reportedly told a local newspaper in Ilorin that the command had launched a manhunt as the operatives led by the DPO of Kambi/Oloru Divisional Police Headquarters are currently combing the bush in Moro and Ifelodun Local Government Areas of the state.
