The Kwara State Commandant, Commandant Umar J.G Mohammed, on Monday continued his familiarization tour by paying a courtesy visit to the Alangua of Tanke community, Alhaji Umar Salaudeen.
According to the Command's PRO, the Commandant's visit to Tanke became necessary due to the community's significance, given its size and the presence of the University of Ilorin students and other notable organizations.
He stated that such institutions often bring unique security challenges, making it essential for law enforcement officials to take a keen interest in ensuring the safety of lives and properties in the community.
Commandant Mohammed appreciated the Alangua for his unflinching support and dedication in ensuring that the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) reaches and maintains its esteemed position in Nigeria's security architecture.
He stressed that collaboration between community leaders and security agencies is crucial for the safety and stability of communities and the nation as a whole.
The Commandant charged officers and men at Tanke Division to be more committed and professional in discharging their duties to justify the trust repose in NSCDC by the community.
The Alangua commended the commandant for his effort towards securing the community and also reiterated his readiness to work hand in gloves with the corps to reduce criminality in the community.
