Eighteen warriors representing 11 African countries will converge on Lagos to compete in the second phase of the African Knockout Championship (AKO) inspired by Kamaru Usman.
Originally slated for Abuja, the Championship will now be held at the luxurious tourist attraction – The Good Beach in Lagos.
The Good Beach will host an extraordinary night of thrilling Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) action with nine fights scheduled for the event.
Organisers said the event promises to be a high-level display to determine the best fighters on African soil.
Amongst the competitors, Nigeria remains the most represented as Daniel Emeka returns following a captivating first-round finish in the first phase held in May.
Emmanuel Bernard also had a standout performance at the first event and will be looking for another victory.
Other standout Nigerian fighters set to be part of the action include Jane Osigwe and Jibrin Inuwa Baba.
Amongst the international stars will be Senegal’s Gasmire Diatta who, although unsuccessful in his fight in the first phase, managed to put on a valiant effort and attained the Fight of the Night performance bonus.
Jean Dos Santos will be representing Benin Republic and looks to continue his winning ways coming off of his third-round Rear Naked Choke submission victory.
Standing across from him will be Togo’s Kokou Olympio, who seeks to get into the winning column.
