A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain in the Kajuru Local Goverment Area of Kaduna State, Alhaji Ahmed Tijani, has begged the party to settle their differences before the 2023 general elections.
Tijani, who expressed discomfort with the lingering crisis rocking the party,
noted that Nigerians were looking forward to seeing its triumph in 2023.
He wondered why the crisis has taken too long to be
settled, adding that all members ought to have one voice before the general
elections.
“All Nigerians are looking, praying toward
the PDP to win the 2023 general election, but some members of the party are
trying to bring down the glory of the party,” he said.
According to him, since the ruling party has failed, its members are
decamping to PDP because they have no alternative.
It would be recalled that the cordial
relationship between former vice president Atiku Abubakar and Governor Wike of
River State went soar immediately the former was declared winner of the
presidential primaries.
However, the cold war led to the
resignation of one of the party’s chieftains, Alhaji Walid Jibrin, last week.
It is not certain when the crisis will be
resolved as the ruling party leaders and governors have continued to woo
Governor Wike to their side.
