The management of the Imodoye Writers Residency has announced plans to officially unveil the members of its seventh cohort during a special ceremony scheduled for Saturday, June 13, 2026.
The unveiling event will take place at the Imodoye Writers Enclave, An-Nur Gardens, 35 Fate-Tanke Road, Ilorin, beginning at 4:00 p.m.
The event is expected to introduce a new group of emerging and established writers selected for the prestigious residency programme, which has continued to provide a creative platform for literary development, mentorship, and intellectual engagement.
Founded by Dr Usman Oladipo Akanbi, the residency has earned recognition for nurturing literary talents and creating opportunities for writers to refine their craft through intensive residencies, workshops, and collaborative engagements.
The seventh cohort unveiling is anticipated to bring together literary enthusiasts, scholars, creative artists, media practitioners, and supporters of the arts to celebrate the latest beneficiaries of the programme.
Organisers say the event will provide an opportunity for the public to meet the newly selected residents and gain insights into the residency's vision of fostering excellence in creative writing and literary scholarship.
The Imodoye Writers Residency has, over the years, become a notable literary initiative in Nigeria, attracting participants from diverse backgrounds and contributing to the growth of contemporary African literature.
The unveiling ceremony is open to invited guests, stakeholders in the literary community, and members of the public interested in the advancement of creative writing and cultural development.
