The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kwara State Command has apprehended three suspects for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl in Offa, Kwara State.
According to a press release issued by the NSCDC Kwara State Command on Thursday September 5, 2024, the suspects - Adeleke Oke (81), Sikiru Lawal (37), and Moshood Suleiman Ayinde (37) - were arrested on September 1, 2024, following a report lodged by the victim's father at the NSCDC Offa Division.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects had unlawful carnal knowledge of the minor on different occasions and threatened her not to disclose the illicit acts.
A detailed medical examination confirmed that the victim's hymen was ruptured, providing clear evidence of repeated s3xual penetration.
The press release noted that the suspects have confessed to the crime and will be charged to court for onward prosecution.
The NSCDC State Commandant, Dr. Umar J.G. Mohammed, condemned the despicable act, urging the public to partner with the Corps in combating defilement, rape, and other sexual offenses.
