Ilorin, the capital city of Kwara State, came to a grinding halt today as motorcycle and tricycle riders staged a massive protest against the soaring fuel prices that are threatening their livelihoods.
The riders, who are the backbone of the city's transportation system, blocked major roads, causing widespread gridlock and disrupting daily activities.
The protesters, who took to the streets early in the morning, complained that the high fuel prices are making it impossible for them to operate without incurring losses.
"We can't continue like this," said one of the protesters. "The government seems not to care that we're struggling to feed our families due to the high cost of fuel."
The protest affected major roads, including Ibrahim Taiwo Road, Sango Area, and Maraba Road, forcing shop owners to temporarily close their businesses.
The riders are demanding that the Government takes immediate action to reduce fuel prices.
The government has yet to respond to the protesters' demands.
