In a bid to improve security surveillance in Kwara State, the State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has upgraded the Araromi-Isolo Opin Divisional Headquarters in Ekiti Local Government Area to a full-fledged Area Command.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony on Friday, the State NSCDC Commandant, Dr. Umar JG Mohammed, who was represented by DCC Aiyelabowo Isaac, said the upgrade was a key initiative in the Command’s ongoing efforts to address insecurity in the State.
According to him, the strategic move is essential for strengthening the security framework in Ekiti Local Government Area, enhancing operational efficiency, expanding security coverage, and establishing a stronger presence of NSCDC in the area.
The Commandant praised the unflinching support of the Araromi-Isolo Opin community and other stakeholders in creating a conducive environment for NSCDC to perform its statutory duties of safeguarding critical national assets and infrastructure.
For his part, the community’s monarch, Oba R. S. Are Ilufemiloye I, Asolo of Isolo Opin, expressed his profound gratitude to the Commandant for his unalloyed support.
He acknowledged the Corps’ commitment to upholding law and order and its resolute dedication to ensuring public safety in the community and its environmentalists.
A statement by the spokesman of the NSCDC, ASC 1 Ayoola Michael Shola noted, “The commissioning of the NSCDC Epe-Opin Outpost office is expected to further bolster security operations in the region, enhance the corps’ ability to respond effectively to security needs.”
