...Commission's New Division In Ipee
In a bid to confront the mounting challenges of insecurity, violence and other social vices pervading various communities in Kwara state, the State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Umar J.G Mohammed on Tuesday commissioned a new divisional office in Ipee town, Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
During the unveiling of the new division, Commandant Umar disclosed that the recent rise in security challenges in the state necessitated upgrading the outpost to a fully operational divisional office to address insecurity more effectively.
He further maintained that the establishment of the division will no doubt improve "our operational efficiency thereby reducing possible threats to our peaceful coexistence" according to a statement by the Corps's Spokesperson, Ayoola Michael Shola.
He praised the contributions of the project's financier, Honorable Olayiwola Oyebode, Deputy Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, and the dedicated residents of the Ipee community for their unwavering commitment and support in ensuring the timely completion of the project.
He assured them that their efforts would not go unnoticed, emphasizing that the security and well-being of the Ipee community are of utmost importance.
NSCDC boss pledged to work tirelessly to address security challenges within and around the Ipee community, ensuring a safer and more secured environment for all residents.
Commandant Umar urged members of the community to remain vigilant and actively support the Corps by providing credible and timely information to enhance our operational capacity.
He stressed that security is a collective responsibility and encouraged everyone to play their part in keeping their community safe.
"By working together and sharing information promptly, we can effectively address security challenges and ensure the safety and well-being of all residents" he stated.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Honorable Olayiwola Oyebode, expressed his gratitude to the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq, for his timely efforts and contributions towards reducing crime and criminality to the barest minimum in the state.
He thanked the Commandant for his cooperation and efforts in ensuring the protection of lives and property in the community.
The Deputy Speaker also urged the Commandant to deploy additional personnel to the new division to bolster the safety and security measures in the area.
In his remarks, the Onipe of Ipee, Oba Lawal Mufutau Adebayo Titiloye III, expressed his sincere gratitude to the Corps for its steadfast dedication to ensuring the safety of the community.
The monarch stressed the significance of their continued support in upholding peace and security within the community and urged for its sustained efforts.
