A member of the House of Representatives for Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency, Dr Ahmed Adamu Saba Ahmed, has congratulated Muslims on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, which marks the successful completion of this year's Ramadan.
In his Sallah message made available to Journalists in Ilorin, Kwara State, Saba said that Nigeria as a nation is at a critical stage of economic recovery that requires every citizen to pray for the country more than ever before.
He also stressed the need for the country to set it priorities right, saying that as a country, "we must also take proactive measures that would help us confront multifaceted problems of kidnapping, armed robbery, arms proliferation, smuggling, unemployment, youth restiveness and decaying infrastructure if confidence and faith in the unity of the country must be restored".
The legislator prayed Almighty Allah to grant Nigerians the heart, understanding knowledge and wisdom for us to collectively nurture a God fearing society with sound moral values, ethics and rule of law.
"In this year's Eid-el-Fitr celebration, we need more prayers and total dedication now than ever before. Nigeria is at a critical economic recovery crossroad coupled with our prostrate security challenges.
"We thank the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, State Governors, Federal and State Legislators, Royal Fathers, Business Actors, Security Operatives and all Nigerians that are prepared to address the greater challenges confronting the country at the moment and set it to the path of recovery and unity restoration.
"We must be bold to tell the truth in the interest of our country and her people. Our dear country needs capable and result-driven leadership like President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abass to steer the ship of our country in the emerging new world order, which places premium on breaking new grounds to create opportunities for our teeming population.
"As we speak, the security situation of the country, most especially kidnapping, banditry and others calls for worry particularly in a society where the moral values have taken a nose dive. Therefore, let us pray for the unity and peace of our nation,"he said.
Saba urged Nigerians to work for the unity and progress of the country, saying the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr calls for repentance and forgiveness of one another, especially now that the country is moving towards economic recovery.
The legislator, who is a popular agro mogul turned politician and doubles as the Ajiya Shonga, enjoined Nigerians to be steadfast in love to one another, adding that it is in doing so that we can be committed to what is just and right for our Nation.
He said that the fervent prayers from various religious bodies and individuals had accounted for the peace that we enjoy as a nation in recent times.
