The federal government has announced plans to recruit aid workers for the distribution of relief materials to victims of the recent crisis in Plateau State.
The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr Betta Edu, disclosed this in a tweet on Friday.
According to her, the online application portal link for interested applicants would be published on Monday, January 8.
The minister noted that the current application was available to applicants resident in Plateau State and the job opening would be for three months.
“These people will be hired for three months in the first instance, and if the crisis is protracted, they may be made to stay six months or for one-year maximum. The humanitarian jobs opening of three months for new humanitarian aid workers resident in Plateau state is open as well.
“The online application portal link will be publicised by Monday. Remember, application for the job is free,” the tweet stated.
No fewer than 190 people were killed and 10,000 people displaced after suspected terrorists attacked communities in three local government areas of Plateau State on Christmas Eve.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Air Force has promised to support the ministry in moving the Humanitarian Aid Workers and relief materials to states and hinterlands where they are most needed.
The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, made this promise through the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Wapkerem Maigida, during a visit to the ministry.
