The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Police on Wednesday paraded fourteen suspected criminals terrorizing the people of the state.
Parading the suspects, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Victor Olaiya listed the arrested suspects criminal syndicates in connection with armed robberies and secret cult activities in different locations.
The Commissioner disclosed that the arrested suspects were linked to a criminal syndicate that operated between Ibadan and Osun State.
“On September 5, 2023, a case of criminal conspiracy and armed robbery was reported by Ms. Opadiran Yetunde, who stated that four armed men invaded her residence in the Oke-Jia Egbejila area and made away with iPhones and jewelry, and even forced her to transfer a significant sum of money while they stole her vehicle.
“Subsequent investigations led to the recovery of the stolen vehicle in Badagry, Lagos State, and the arrest of three individuals: Abdulsalam, Nurudeen Saka, and Segun Tata.
He stated that the criminals were identified as part of a syndicate operating between Ibadan and Osun State, engaging in a string of robberies, including the one reported by Ms Yetunde.
Exhibits recovered from the suspects include weapons, phones, money, jewelry, watches, and more.
In a separate incident, two notorious armed robbery suspects, Jamiu Idowu Aje and Shittu Sherif, were arrested in connection with multiple robberies.
The suspects were arrested with a double-barrel gun and an unregistered motorcycle.
“During interrogation, they confessed to several robberies, including one in which a person was killed. The gang had also stolen motorcycles and was involved in violent clashes with rival cultists.
“In yet another case, three individuals, Ahmed Umar, Tunde Olarewaju Usman, and Kudus Ajao Okin, were arrested in connection with secret cult activities. A locally made single-barrel gun was recovered from one of the suspects.
Ahmed Umar confessed to his affiliation with a rival cult organization and was assigned the duty of obtaining weapons as a means of reconciliation.
Tunde Olarewaju, a member of the Aiye Confraternity, admitted to his responsibility for the murders of multiple Eiye Cult members and the gruesome act of decapitating their victims.
Two suspects, Azeez Shola Lawal and Ismail Musa, also known alias Ostence, were arrested by law enforcement operatives for their involvement in a homicide.
A report was filed by Kehinde Abdulquadri Sarumi, where she described an incident where she and her children were assaulted by a group of masked and armed men while they were selling bread at the Oja-Oba roundabout.
Amid the incident, two of her children sustained injuries, and sadly, one of them lost their life. Following an extensive investigation, after a thorough investigation, the suspects confessed to the crime.
The police chief, however, stated that all the suspects will be brought before the court once the investigation is completed.

Arrest Of Armed Robbery Suspects
On 09/05/2023 at about 1600hrs, a case of criminal conspiracy and armed robbery was reported by one Opadiran Yetunde ‘F’ of Oke-Jia Egbejila Area Ilorin and was being investigated by detectives attached to the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department.
"According to the complainant, about four armed men invaded her residence at about 0115hrs of 08/05/2023 and carted away iPhones and Jewelries valued at two million naira (N2,000,000.00) as well as forced her to make a transfer of One million, five hundred and eighty four thousand naira (N1,584,000.00) to an account while they also drove away with her white model 2010 Toyota Corolla Value N6,672,000.00k.
"Investigation of the case led to the recovery of the vehicle in Badagry Lagos State with one Abdulsalam ‘M’, Nurudeen Saka ‘M’ and Segun Tata’M’ respectively. On interrogation, the three arrested suspects confessed to the crime and mentioned one Biodun Abolade Ojo aka Abbey ‘M’, Ibikunle Shola ‘M’ aka Showboy and Morufu Oyekanmi ‘M’ who were then at large. Efforts to arrest them yielded no result.
Until on 15/10/2023 when eagle eyed Policemen on stop and search operation along Eiyenkorin / Ogbomoso Highway intercepted the long-sort for suspect by name Biodun Abolade and two of his Co- horts in a Commercial Vehicle and when searched two battle axe were found on them.
During intensive interrogation, the three suspects confessed to being a syndicate coming from Ibadan and Osun State to committ series of robbery attacks including robbing the earlier mentioned complainant in Egbejila and others within and around Ilorin, snatching vehicles and other valuables. Suspects would soon be charged to court, after conclusion of investigation.
In a similar case, two notorious armed robbery suspects by name; Jamiu Idowu Aje ‘M’ aka Ijoba, Shittu Sherif ‘M’ aka Abule, the aforementioned suspects Were arrested pursuant to a report of a case of Criminal Conspiracy, Illegal Possession of Fire-Arms and being members of secret societies under investigation by command’s Anti-Robbery Team. The two suspects were arrested by CID team in conjunction with members of vigilante in Ilorin with the following exhibits.
• One cut-to size English Made Double barrel Gun.
• One Expended Cartridge
• One Blue Color unregistered Jincheng Motorcycle.
Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to series of robbery operation including the one that happened on 26/09/2023 at Isale- Koto Area Ilorin where One Afeez Babatunde ‘M’ was killed. The gang also escaped with three snatched motocycles they used in killing a rival cultists named Gafar and Tunde along Gambari area Ilorin.

Arrest Of Secret Cult Members
On 9/10/2023 at about 1800hrs a case of Criminal Conspiracy, Ilegal Possession of Fire-Arm was transferred to the SCID Ilorin from D Division Adewole with a suspect named Ahmed Umar ‘M’ alias Hollybea. Investigation led to the arrest of two other suspects Tunde Olarewaju Usman ‘M’ and Kudus Ajao Okin ‘M’ while others are at large. One Cut to size locally made single Barel Gun was recovered from him. The suspect was tasked by his leaders to buy two guns, two axes and two cutlasses as his contribution to the group as a palliative for forgiveness for fraternizing with another rival cult group, he claimed to had shortly bought one gun when he was arrested with the gun. The second suspect, Tunde Olarewaju a member of Aiye Confraternity confessed to be responsible for the killings of three members of Eiye Cult namely, Toheeb ‘M’ of Omoda area Ilorin, KC ‘M’ of Soj street, saw-mill Ilorin and the third was mowed down at Lanre Gada Sobi road Ilorin. He also confessed to be the one In-charge of decapitating the bodies of their victims. Efforts are still ongoing to arrest other members of the gang.
“In another development the following suspects: Azeez Shola Lawal ‘M’ aka Efo, Ismail Musa Aka Ostence were arrested on the strength of the compliant by one Kehinde Abdulquadri Sarumi ‘F’ on 15/10/2021 at about 0910hrs, that while at Oja-Oba roundabout selling bread at her stand with her children, some unknown group of people with mask attacked them and started shooting sporadically at them as a result, two of her children were injured.
"One Mariam Abdullahi Sarumi ‘M’ 15yrs old died on the spot, while Abdularaheem abdulahi Sarumi ‘M’ 6yrs old sustained bullet injuries on the right hand and chest. Investigation by officers of the SCID led to the arrest of the suspects after a painstaking intelligence operation.
“The suspects confessed to the crime and would soon be charged to court for crimes bothering on Homicide and other charges.
