The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has accused the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami of promoting ethnic agenda against its leader, Nnamdi Kanu and the Igbo people.
IPOB was reacting to the transfer of the
judges of the Appeal Court who ordered Kanu’s release.
Emma Powerful, the group’s spokesman,
faulted the appointment of the new judges who ordered a stay of execution in
the appeal against Kanu.
Powerful urged Malami to redeem his image
by adhering to the court ruling ordering Kanu’s release.
IPOB warned that Malami’s alleged hatred
for Kanu would soon destroy Nigeria.
A statement by Powerful reads: “Malami
transferred the honourable justices who displayed sincerity in justice on the
13th of October 2022 in the Appeal Court, to work on the minds of the newly
appointed judges and has used them to order a stay of execution of justice
which they have carried out today being Friday the 28th of October 2022.
“Nigeria has a lot of brilliant lawyers who
are supposed to be appointed as Attorney General, but unfortunately, for the
sake of tribalism, nepotism and their fulanization agenda, a lunatic, extremist
and tribal bigot like Malami was appointed to promote his ethnic agenda.”
IPOB accused Malami of being defiant to
court orders and “exposing Nigeria as a Banana Republic.”
