About four persons have lost their lives in a road accident in Ogun State and a clash between hoodlums in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Three persons died in a road crash on Friday near
Sagamu-interchange along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State. The fatal
crash involved nine persons.
The Federal Road Safety Corps spokesperson in the state,
Florence Okpe, confirmed the accident. Okpe said out of the nine men involved
in the road crash, three persons died while one person was injured.
She said, “The injured victim refused to be taken to a
hospital by the FRSC officials for treatment. The incident involved four
vehicles: an Iveco truck marked SSU517XA; a Man Diesel container with
registration number, T- 8493LA, and the other two vehicles with no registration
numbers.
“The suspected cause of the multiple crash was speeding
which led to loss of control on the part of one of the vehicles. The three
corpses were deposited at Idera Hospital mortuary.”
The Ogun State FRSC Sector Commander, Ahmed Umar, cautioned
motorists on speed violation.
