... She believes it is her late husband's soul reincarnated.
A trending video shows a Cambodian woman in “marital bliss” with a cow she believes is her reincarnated husband.
Khim Hang, 74, of Cambodia’s northeast Kratie province, said she married it because it shares the same personality as her deceased husband.
The wedding ceremony is not captured on film, but villagers who were present claim it took place.
Hang is seen escorting the cow to her one-story house.
She then bathes it and makes it a cozy bed with pillows similar to those used by her late husband Tol Khut, who died the previous year.
“I believe the calf is my husband because whatever he does… is exactly like what my husband did when he was alive,” Hang told Reuters.
“I believe the calf is my husband because everything he does resembles what my husband did when he was alive.”
Because he could “sense his father’s spirit within the animal,” Hang’s son said he believed his mother’s claim and was vigilant in ensuring the cow did not wander far from their home.
After the woman dies, her children are forbidden from selling or mistreating the cow and must instead look after their father.
Hang has told her children that they must look after their “father” until he dies.
She also insisted that when it died, it be given the same funeral as a human.
In 2010, a teen from an Indonesian coastal village reportedly passed out after being forced to marry a cow.
When Ngurah Alit, 18, was discovered fornicating with the cow, villagers organized a wedding ceremony for the two.
